No. You can scan, organize, search, compare, and receive reminder notifications completely offline without an account. An optional account or guest sign-in is only needed if you choose to use enhanced cloud AI extraction or vault Q&A.
Your documents are stored directly in your device's local sandbox, encrypted with AES-GCM. Altheru does not maintain a cloud copy of your files, so your documents remain strictly under your control.
Altheru uses Apple's local notification engine on your iPhone or iPad. Reminders are scheduled locally for 1 year, 6 months, 3 months, 1 month, and 1 week before expiry dates, requiring no internet connectivity to fire.
When you trigger an AI scan, the document is sent over an encrypted HTTPS connection to our secure processing API. The model extracts key dates, titles, and metrics, and returns them to your device. The file is discarded immediately after processing.
Yes. You can export decrypted copies anytime via the standard iOS Share Sheet to AirDrop, Files, Mail, or any app of your choice.
